I recommend joining AAA for this type of information. One reason is that they actually offer sound advice that is backed by years providing road service. If I can offer one thing to RV'ers it would be...PLAN AHEAD.

my brother has a permanent "camping" checklist on his Blackberry, which he just adds to for individual trips.

Here is my "Preflight" Checklist:
check tires and all basement hatches are secure.
Check lights.
Check the engine oil (Make sure I have spare oil with me).
Check for anything inside that may grow wings if I turn and secure it.
oh yeah, kids too....
